Tovey offers advice to courageous Banyana

Tovey remains the only South African national team captain to lift the continental trophy back in 1996 and fully understands what is needed to lift the most prestigious title in African football.

"They've got to have patience, when we played Tunisia (in the 1996 AFCON final) we knew what we needed to do," Tovey tells KickOff.

"We were playing at altitude so we knew it would catch up to the Tunisians.

"They will be playing in Morroco so the hosts will be coming at Banyana full force.

"So just be disciplined and patient. It's 90 minutes so take your time and If you are going to do things, do it correctly.

"They didn't play the best football in the semi-final, but that's good they don't have to play the best football they just have to win.

"But they can play good football in the final and still win you know, that would even be better.

"As a captain just says to them 'play your normal game don't change anything, do what you usually do, don't try to do things differently."

Kick-off is at 22:00 (SA time).
