Newly-crowned African champions Banyana Banyana received a hero's welcome as Desiree Ellis' squad landed at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday to much fanfare.
Ellis' side was welcomed by a jam-packed OR Tambo International Airport as South Africans celebrated Banyana being crowned Women's African Cup of Nations champions.
Banyana defeated host nation Morocco 2-1 on Saturday to secure a first-ever Wafcon trophy.

Minister of Sports, Nathi Mthethwa alongside SAFA president Danny Jordaan announced that Banyana were set to be paid equally compared to their male counterparts.
Mthethwa also handed over an additional R5.8 million bonus on top of an initial R9.2 million for lifting the Wafcon trophy.
