AmaZulu cite traveling 'challenges' for Horoya draw in CAF Champions League

Usuthu crashed out of their maiden continental campaign after facing an uphill battle in sealing any hopes of qualification for the knockout stages from Group B at the General Lansana Conte Stadium on Friday.

Speaking after the final whistle, assistant coach Vasili Manousakis revealed that his side faced huge logistical challenges after arriving in Guniea.

"When you watched the game today you watched an AmaZulu team that didn't train yesterday," Manousakis said.

"We got off the aeroplane and had unbelievable challenges with buses that were not working and broke down.

"That destroyed the team harmony and a team that didn't train yesterday in the stadium or at all.

"Who then delivered a performance like that in the second half that was an unbelievable performance.

"I'm very, very proud of this team, despite the challenges for what they achieved, so if we had the opportunity to do that over 90 minutes perhaps we would have won the game."

Usuthu finish Group B in third place behind leaders Raja Casablanca and second-placed ES Setif.
