Mamelodi Sundowns remain top of their CAF Champions League group after playing to a 2-2 draw against Al Ahly on Saturday night.
Star figures Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile returned from the Brazilians' impressive 3-1 victory over Coton Sport in their last match, with Percy Tau starting for Ahly against his former club.
There was an early spell of promise from the Egyptian giants and they managed to force a save out of Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams inside the opening ten minutes.
Masandawana started to see a lot of the ball thereafter in which a good move from midfield involving Marcelo Allende led to an opening for Shalulile, who pulled the attempt wide of target.
Shalulile received another opportunity around the closing minutes towards halftime when he steered a perfectly weighted delivery from Aubrey Modiba's corner wide.
The Namibian striker finally made his presence felt five minutes to the break when he latched onto a low cross from Cassius Mailula and tapped in to hand Sundowns the lead.
Masandawana were on the back-foot five minutes into the second half and a foul on Tau gave the hosts a penalty, but Mohamed Hany failed to profit as Ronwen Williams pulled off a save.
Sundowns regained momentum minutes later through a smart rasping attempt in a decent area by Mailula, but Mohammed El-Shenaway denied the forward.
That missed opportunity came back to haunt the Brazilians as the Cairo Red Devils levelled after defender Mohamed Abdelmonem headed in from a corner-kick.
Al Ahly then took the lead in the final 15 minutes after Hussein El Shahat cut inside from out wide and fired in the near corner.
The Brazilians didn't give up and leveled with ten minutes to go as substitute Thapelo Morena latched onto a loose ball from a shot that had bounced off the post and rifled in from a tight angle.
Both sides went all out for the winner in the final stages of the match, but settled for a share of the spoils with the Brazilians' 14-match winning run brought to an end.
