AmaZulu defeated ES Setif 1-0 to maintain their unbeaten record in Group B of the CAF Champions League on Friday evening.
Goalkeeper Veli Mothwa, Thapelo Xoki, Philani Zulu, Keagan Buchanan, Luvuyo Memela and Augustine Mulenga were the only players who survived from Usuthu's goalless draw with TS Galaxy on Tuesday.
AmaZulu allowed a clear chance to go abegging seconds in after Mulenga picked up a loose pass and rounded goalkeeper Zakaria Bouhalfaya for a clear opener, but he went wide.
The Algerians started to grow in confidence following a nervy start and had Zoubir Motrani sting the gloves of Mothwa from a rasping shot outside the area close to the half-hour mark.
Usuthu were on the ropes yet again and almost succumbed through a succession of attempts from close-range by Mohamed Khoutir Ziti minutes towards halftime, but it was repelled by Mothwa.

Although, it was the host that got their noses in front 42 minutes in when Memela received a low pass on the edge of the area by Philani Zulu and curled into the bottom corner.
The South African side brought about a change at the start of the second half, with Sandile Khumalo withdrawn and former Orlando Pirates wingback Thembela Sikhakhane hauled in.
Setif continued to hang tight in the middle of the second period and were close to getting the equaliser through a clear one-on-one from Ahmed Kendouci, but Mothwa narrowed the angle.
Usuthu should've been further ahead in the last nine minutes from a floating delivery to the back post but substitute Samkelo Mgwazela failed to profit.
Nevertheless, AmaZulu maintained their compactness and resilience as the visitors threw numbers forth for the equaliser, as it finished 1-0 in Durban to make two wins from three group games.
