As group winners, Sundowns will face any of the runners-up from the other three groups in JS Kabylie (Algeria), Simba (Tanzania), or CR Belouizdad (Algeria).
Kabylie have won this competition twice before (1981, 1990) and have also lifted the African Cup Winners' Cup and CAF Cup and CAF Super Cup.
Simba is a club that is familiar with domestic fans having faced Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in recent years with no success.
Of the three opponents they appear the weakest and being from Tanzania will be the shortest trip for Downs.
Though they are huge in East Africa, they have never won any continental title.
CR Belouizdad is known to Sundowns with the two having played in the same group two years ago.
The Brazilians hammered them 5-1 in Algeria and having already gone by the time the second leg was played in Tshwane, Downs then lost 2-0.
Of note is that the Algerians' appetite on the continent has been growing.
For the dates, the two-legged quarterfinals will be played on April 21-22 with the second leg a week later (April 28-29).
The semi-finals are scheduled for May 12-13 (first leg) and May 19-20 (second leg) while the final is on June 2 and June 9.
Troubled Marumo Gallants will also be in the CAF Confederation Cup draw earlier today after also winning their group.
They will face any of Rivers United (Nigeria), Pyramids (Egypt), or US Monastir (Tunisia).
