'Final we go!' - Percy Tau emerges as king of CAF CL

Superstar attacker Percy Tau is emerging as the king of the CAF Champions League after inspiring Al Ahly to their fourth consecutive continental final with a 1-0 win over Esperance on Friday.

Tau provided the instrumental assist with a defence-splitting pass as Hussein El Shahat scored the decisive goal in the 22nd minute at the Cairo International Stadium as Al Ahly sealed a dominant 4-0 aggregate win.

The 29-year-old has rediscovered his best form at the right time and now boasts the highest goal contributions (9) in the continental showpiece with four goals alongside five assists.

Tau has proved instrumental for the Egyptian giants by incredibly having scored or assisted 9 of Al Ahly's 20 goals scored in the competition so far while having contributed directly in 6 of the 8 rounds of fixtures.

"Percy Tau is a distinguished player but he suffered an injury before he ran the correct program," head coach Marcel Koller said on Tau's scintillating form.

"But now, we got him back at the right time in his best condition, and everyone [in the team] is helping him  show his best abilities.

"All of this is done by the coaching staff, and the players also around him [being] in their best form allows him to shine."

In the alternate fixture, with the tie finely poised at 0-0 Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca will compete for the chance to book a spot in the competition's final against the awaiting Tau's Al Ahly.
