Lobi Stars coach Solomon Ogbeide passes away

The cruel hand of death has struck African football again after Lobi Stars coach Solomon Ogbeide passed away on Monday.

According to media reports from Nigeria, Ogbeide succumbed to low blood pressure after complaining of not feeling well earlier on Monday.

The former Warri Wolves coach was in charge of Stars when they played against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League this season.

The death of Ogbeide emerged like wildfire in Nigeria on Monday evening.

"Yes it's true, but I am surprised. To me Ogbeide was not a just a coach, he was a father. This is a big blow to Nigerian football," Warri Wolves player John Dosu was quoted by Premium Times.

Ogbeide is remembered in South Africa for his famous quote when told Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane, "I'm not your girlfriend."
