Sundowns aiming to conquer Africa

Mamelodi Sundowns have confidently declared an ambition to lift the CAF Champions League after booking a spot in the group stages in emphatic fashion.

Sundowns ran out 15-1 aggregate winners over minnows La Passe in the second preliminary round at the weekend.

"We always have one and the same expectation even though we stumble sometimes, but we are Sundowns," Mngqithi said.

"We believe we are a big team, a team that deserves to win every competition we play in.

"We make mistakes here and there sometimes, but sometimes we do very well in what we want to achieve.

"So there is no difference, even this season we are in it to try to win it, we are never in it to try to only get to the group stages.

"Or to get to the quarter-finals, we are always in it to try to win it."

The Brazilians next switch their attention to domestic football when hosting Marumo Gallants in a DStv Premiership clash at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
