Pitso Mosimane pleased to play away in first leg against Wydad Casablanca

Mamelodi Sundowns welcome the privilege of starting the CAF Champions League semifinal against Wydad Casablanca away from home tonight.

For the past few seasons Sundowns have not been given a chance to start away from home but this time around they are in Rabat, Morocco for the first leg. The Brazilians will welcome Wydad for the second leg at home next weekend.

Mosimane, who is well aware of the need for his side to score to give themselves an early advantage, is waiting to see how Wydad will react as the home team.

"We have not played them away first, let's see how they respond when they know they have to come here and it's in our hands when they are here," said Mosimane.

"It's never been easy for us in the Champions League to be honest, we have never enjoyed the luxury of playing away first and even when we won it, it's always starting here and then going away.

"This time it's not because of favour or whatever, it's the way the draw has been done. It's been done like that earlier."

'Jingles' is hoping the advantage of playing at home in the second leg will work in their favour.

"I think Sundowns has got a game at home against North Africans. They don't deal with it well. We have seen it so many times, that's what we know and that's what they know," he explained.

"We know that Sundowns don't win in Casablanca and we haven't scored there. Those are facts, we cannot say we will win in Casa. What's my reference [today]? But I have a reference that we will win in Mamelodi, and we have a goal."
