Pitso Mosimane: The better team lost the CAF Champions League final

"The better team was the one who lost tonight," Mosimane said, per the club's official website. "When you play in a neutral ground and with equal fan attendance from both sides then you can speak about winning or losing. I think everyone who took this decision are happy now."

He added, "I do not know how anyone can say that the CAF Champions League final was well organized. I think the Moroccans are the only ones who said that."

Prior to the match, allegations were made that Ahly fans had not received their full allocation of tickets for the final, while Wydad were believed to have been awarded a greater allocation of tickets for their supporters.

Mosimane was critical of the sideshow that enveloped the match and concluded by sharing his lack of surprise that his side had failed to overcome the odds that he perceived to have been stacked against his side.

"The referee took three minutes to replace his watch and the ball boys took a lot of time to bring the balls back to the players, and that was a normal thing to happen, especially that we play at Wydad's ground," he added. "Eventually, it was normal that Wydad win the title."
