The confirmation of the CAF club competitions quarter-finals teams has left both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates facing the prospect of meeting opposition from North Africa.
Sundowns finished top of their Champions League group while Pirates also topped their Confederation Cup which means the two South African clubs will be seeded for the draw on Tuesday afternoon in Cairo, Egypt.
The Brazilians will face any of Petro de Luanda from Angola or the Algeria pair of ES Setif and CR Belouizdad but get to avoid Raja Casablanca, Wydad Casablanca, and Esperance.

Sundowns have previously played all three opponents in this competition playing a draw away and winning at home in their most recent meeting against Petro de Luanda.
The Angolans will provide the shortest trip for the champions and be the preferred opposition considering how much they have struggled against South African opposition.
They are the most successful club in Angola but have never won any continental trophy.
On their way to winning the 2016 Champions League, Sundowns overcame Setif in a game that eventually led to the North Africans being disqualified after ugly scenes in that match.
Setif have had documented financial troubles in recent times but remains competitive and won the Champions League in 2014.
Fellow Algerians Belouizdad were hammered 5-1 at home by Sundowns last year before winning 2-0 at Loftus with Sundowns already through to the quarterfinals.
Belouizdad are champions of Algeria but has never won any continental title.
The Bucs will have to deal with Tanzania heavyweights Simba or the Egyptian duo of Pyramids or Al Masry.
Simba will be the shortest trip for Pirates who will be buoyed by how the East Africans struggled on their last visit to South Africa to meet Kaizer Chiefs last season.
Pyramids will be tricky opposition considering how much they have improved and become a strong opponent to Al Ahly and Zamalek in their domestic league.
They feature South African attacker Fagrie Lakay.
Al Masry is another club from Egypt who have gone as far as the semi-finals of this competition in recent times.
The quarterfinals of both competitions will be played on the weekend of April 15-16 and April 22-23.
