Head coach Lee Clarke provided insight into his tactical masterstroke that enabled his Al-Merrikh side to hold Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless draw in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
After a challenging opening period where Sundowns created numerous chances, the home side made a crucial tactical switch to clinch a valuable point in a Group A clash in Cairo.
"The game was difficult for us at the start," Clarke said post-match.
"So we had to make a tactical change, and this prevented Sundowns from having as many chances as they did at the start of the game.
"It allowed us to get up the field and to then create chances against them.

"We also caused some problems for them which for us was important for our team.
"My players showed great flexibility and great heart and we move onto the next game with a clean sheet.
"Where you always want to start the group stages with a positive result and we did that today."
Lee Clarke as a player featured for various Premier League sides, most notably for Newcastle United where he made over 200 appearances.
Sundowns next face a crucial clash against defending champions Al Ahly on Saturday.
