Sekhukhune fall to Lunda Sul in Confed Cup

Sekhukhune United lost 1-0 to Deportivo Lunda Sul in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round.

Sekhukhune are in action for the first time since their MTN8 loss to Cape Town City last month, as the Betway Premiership season only got underway this weekend.

Babina Noko are on their second appearance in the competition after making it all the way to the group stage phase in their debut campaign last season.

Lunda-Sul, meanwhile, past El Geco Plus in the last round via the away goals, but they had failed to win their last matches across all competitions, which dates back to last season.

So it was no surprise to see the first end goalless in Luanda, with both sides still feeling the effects of not playing regularly this campaign.

It would be the home side to get the game's only goal late in the second half through Joca's strike, which will see them take a slight advantage to South Africa next weekend.

Lehlohonolo Seema's charges will not have to wait long to get back on the field, as they take on newly-promoted Magesi FC in their first Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday.
