Pirates succumed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Egyptian giants Zamalek in thieir second CAF Confederations Cup group match at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Despite dominating for most parts of the match, Bucs only managed to find the opening goal in the 68th minute, after good work from Sifiso Myeni to set up substitute Lehlohonolo Majoro with the keeper to beat.
A lapse of concerntration from the home side's defense meant the visitors were able to gnaw their way back into the match, allowing Maarouf Youssef and Mustafa Fathi to help The White Knight to a come-from-behind away win.
The win today sees the Cairo-based side make it two from two, and subsequently go top of Group B, while the Buccaneers are left in second with just three points.
Tinkler, however, feels the group is still far from over with four more matches to play, and believes his side deserved to get at least a draw at home.
"We're obviously disappointed with the result today," says Tinkler.
"i think we probably deserved a little bit more... I'm not saying we deserved to win the game, but a draw would have probably been a fair result.
"But to have lost the game, obviously we're extremely disappointed but it's not the end of the world. We're still in second, after the other two teams drew [on Friday]."
The Bucs tactician is already looking ahead and believes his side can go to Tunisia and get a good result against SC Sfaxien in two weeks time.
"It's important now that we go to SC Sfaxien and try and collect points there because it's always been important for us to want to collect the points at home, and we obviously failed to do that today."
