Pirates overcame their Tunisian counterparts for a second time in as many weeks, with a 2-0 home win on Saturday evening.
Thabo Rakhale opened the scoring 10 minutes before half-time after visitors through everything at the Soweto giants in the opening exchanges.
Menzi Masuku then sealed the victory 10 minutes after the break, ending all hope of a Sfaxien fight-back, while also maintaining another clean sheet.
Tinkler was well pleased with his side's performance and the win, while also reserving praise for his defence who held firm throughout the 90 minutes.
"Fantastic win, I think we've seen that [Sfaxien] are a very good team going forward. They are always a threat in attack, and we had to be extremely resolute," said Tinkler.
"I though Issa Sarr was phenominal tonight, as was Happy Jele and Siya Sangweni. The back four were really solid, and the amount of balls Sarr won today was fantastic."
The former Bucs assistant also praised his players' tactical discipline for soaking up the pressure and breaking on the counter-attack, which resulted in both the goals.
"We caught them on the break, which is exactly what happened when we beat them [away].
"We could have had a couple more [goals] I thought, but I'm just happy to get the result," he added.
The Buccaneers will now hope that Zamalek can do them a favour by beating AC Leopards in the other Group B fixture set for Sunday, before they can celebrate their progression to the semi-finals of the tournament, with two games to spare.
