Happy Jele targets win against Zamalek

The Buccaneers will meet Zamalek in their final group match on Sunday in Cairo, with both teams tie on 12 points each, but the Egyptian giants are top due to the head-to-head record after beating Pirates 2-1 last month in Nelspruit.

Jele says they are going to Cairo to reverse that scoreline as they aim to finish first in Group B.

“We didn't do well the last time we played against them because we were in the middle of our preparations for the new season,” Jele says.

“Now we know what to expect from them and everyone is fit to play and we are hoping we can beat them on their homeground and top the group.”

Should Pirates beat the Egyptians, they will go top of the group, though a draw would leave Zamalek at the summit in accordance with the duo's head-to-head record.

If Bucs finish top, they will play their first leg of their semi-final away and this is something Jele says they are planning to achieve.

“We know what we need to do now and we are hoping we can get three points and finish on top of the group.”
