Jeridi Rami criticises Pirates 'showboating' in 2-0 defeat

With Pirates leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Thabo Rakhale and Menzi Masuku, Myeni started to show-boat and infuriated Sfaxien striker Maher Hannachi.

Myeni and Rakhale entertained the crowd throughout the game with their show-boating, but with just over ten minutes, a trick from Myeni upset some of the Sfaxien players nearby.

Sfaxien keeper Rami Jeridi congratulated the Bucs for their performance but feels the trickery was a show of disrespect and unsportsman-like behaviour towards the end.

“I want to congratulate Pirates for the victory. It is true that in football there are rules that must be respected and I don't appreciate what happened in the field,” Hedi said after the match.

“Pirates should have given us some respect in that regard.”

The defeat means Sfaxien are out of the 2015 competition, with two matches still to play, as they sit on just one point from four matches.

The keeper said his defence had some difficulties in handling young Masuku and Kermit Erasmus upfront.

“When they played with players who are short it was more difficult for me. Those players like to go behind the defence and to take advantage of the spaces created by our defence.

“Our focus was more to attack and in so doing, we left a lot of space behind and that's where they took advantage, and I had a very difficult game because of that,” he added.
