The Buccaneers are the only team from the PSL still left with an African journey ahead of them after Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns bowed out of the CAF Champions League in the first round.

Pirates leave for Gabon today to face CF Mounana in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, and Bacela believes the team has what it takes to go much further in the competition.
Bacela played an important part during Bucs' 2013 CAF Champions League route to the Final, scoring two goals in nine starts, and believes they have gained the necessary experience to cope with the challenges.

"It doesn’t put us under any pressure [being the only PSL team left] because it is not the first time for us, it was the same scenario even in the Champions League and the fact that we know we are carrying the flag for our country is a huge motivating factor for us," Bacela tells the Pirates website.
"We see the support when we leave at the airport and when we come back, those are moments in life that you cherish and look forward to as a footballer.
"As much as we would have loved for the other teams to have continued representing South Africa, it is up to us now and we relish the opportunity to continue representing our country well."

The 32-year-old is expecting another stern test of the team's character. Pirates had to dig deep to get past a stubborn Uganda Revenue Authority in the first round and anticipates more of the same from the Gabonese club.
"It’s going to be difficult considering that we know nothing about our opponents but having said that we have been in such situations before. I think with the experience we have now having played both in the Champions League and the Confederation Cup, we have gained a lot of experience and we are aware of what we are capable of as a team," he adds.
"So yes, we are confident of getting a positive result and besides, the pressure is on them because they are playing on their home ground so they have it all to do.
"We have done it against powerhouses of African football in the past and there is no reason why we can’t do it against this team."
