Mbuyane backs Mahamutsa as a reserve goalkeeper for Pirates' Confederation Cup clash with Leopards

Pirates will host the Congolese side with only one keeper - Felipe Ovono - as Brighton Mhlongo is injured and Siyabonga Mpontshane is not registered for the continental competiton.

Mahamutsa has been touted as an emergency option in goal, with Mbuyane showing faith in the defender's handling abilities.

"Umnandi [He is good]," Mbuyane tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Sometimes he used to play as a goalkeeper at training whilst still at Pirates.

"He is good in that department."

Mbuyane made over a 100 appearances for the Buccaneers in a five-and-a-half-year spell which ended in January 2014.

'Juju' later joined Mpumalanga Black Aces and Royal Eagles before retiring in November last year.
