Pirates are back in the country after beating Congolese outfit AC Leopards 1-0 in Dolisie in their Group B opener in the CAF Confederation Cup on the weekend.
Tinkler's men will next host Egyptian giants Zamalek in the competition at Mbombela Stadium on July 11.
"Obviously we are proud and happy that the fans came [to the airport]. But now they must come out in big numbers when we play Zamalek," Tinkler says.
"It's important in this competition that fans need to come to the games and fill the stadium.

"There was a good turn up when we played AC Leopards and I think you saw it on TV, that's motivation in itself.
"So the fans need to come up when we play Zamalek. It won't be an easy game."
