"We arrived safely in Dakar last night and we are now awaiting to board our connecting flight to Bamako in Mali. The players are in good spirits despite the long flight," Pirates spokesperson Thandi Merafe revealed on the club's official website.
Merafe, who is with the team, added: “We have a short flight to Bamako and then we have a captain’s run scheduled at the match venue at 17h00 today [19h00 SA time].”
The first leg of the play-off clash against the reigning Guinean League champions will be played at the Stade Modibo Keita in Bamako.
The tie was moved from Guinea due to concerns over the Ebola virus.
