Pirates midfielder Rakhale reaction to scoring goal against CS Sfaxien in Confederation Cup Group B clash

Rakhale decided the Group B tie with a composed chip from the edge of the area on the angle in the 47th minute at Stade Taïeb Mhiri.

"It all happened very quickly; I had an option to pass the ball across goal but there was a defender… at that moment I saw the keeper off his line and I decided to go for it and I’m glad I was able to pull it off,” Rakhale told Bucs' website.

The 25-year-old felt Pirates should have bagged more goals - echoing the sentiment of coach Eric Tinkler - but said the result is ultimately what matters.

"We got the points and that's all that goes on the table. It's what we needed and we’ve done it,” said Rakhale.

“Sfaxien gave us a tough game, they came at us but we were up to the task and I believe we could have scored more but like I’ve already said, the most important thing is the win tonight.”

Tinkler's side remain second in Group B with six points from three matches - three points behind Egyptian giants Zamalek, who defeated AC Leopards 2-0 in Cairo earlier in the day. Leopards and Sfaxien have a point apiece.

The Buccaneers next face their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the annual Carling Black Label Cup at FNB Stadium on August 1.
