SAFA president Jordaan backs Pirates to impress against AS Leopards in CAF Confederation Cup

The CAF tie will start at 16h30 (SA time) at the Stade Dennis Sassou Nguesso in Dolisie, Congo-Brazzaville.

"We would like to take this opportunity to wish Orlando Pirates the best of luck in the opening match of their group stages clash in the CAF Confederation Cup," said Jordaan.

"They have shown they have what it takes to go all the way and we are confident they will fly the South African flag high,” he added of the 1995 Champions League winners.

"While it is not going to be easy, it is important to make solid start to any campaign, especially when playing away. We urge all South Africans, irrespective which club they belong to, to rally behind the Buccaneers."

Meanwhile, five South African officials will oversee a Champions League encounter between TP Mazembe and El Hilal in Lubumbashi on Sunday.

Victor Gomes will referee the game, with Zakhele Siwela and Stevens Khumalo acting as his assistants.

Victor Hlungwani is the reserve referee, while Sue Destombes is the 'general coordinator' of the match.
