Tinkler: Pirates know what to expect against AC Leopards in CAF Confederation Cup

Pirates, who jetted out from OR Tambo International airport this morning, will face the Congolese side in Dolisie in a CAF Confederation Cup group stage tie, with kick-off at 16h30 [SA time] at Denis Sassou Nguesso Stadium.

Bucs previously encountered Leopards en-route to their run to the Champions League Final in November, 2013.

The Sea Robbers lost 1-0 away and drew 0-0 at Orlando Stadium with the The Beasts from Niari in Africa's premier cup competition.

“The match against Leopards won’t be easy,” Tinkler told the club's website.

“However, the fact that we have played in Congo before will prepare us better than when we met in 2013. If you recall we lost 1-0 in that match but now I believe we will be in a better position to compete as we now know what to expect from our opposition when they play in front of their home crowd.”
