CT City issue update on Manyama

Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has given some light on when he will be able to sign former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Lebogang Manyama.

The 32-year-old has been waiting for a deal at the club since he parted ways with Chiefs at the end of the 2021/22 season.

In his 79 appearances for Chiefs he contributed 15 goals and only 13 assists.

Since then, he has been undergoing rehab after the injury that saw his signing at City being delayed.

Manyama only started training with the Citizens recently due to the seriousness of his injury.

Though he is currently a free agent, Comitis says Manyama will not be rushed to put pen to paper until they are sure he has completely healed.

"Manyama is still on the path to recovery," Comitis tells KickOff.

"He will probably be in recovery until Christmas.

"We will only assess him after that.

"His progress is good as he trains with us and sometimes on his own.

"But he's here and we still supporting him. I will only sign him when he can play.

"At the moment he is still recovering."
