Comitis: Mdantsane to Chiefs not a "done deal"

Cape Town City boss John Comitis insists indications that midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane has already been sold to Kaizer Chiefs is not true.

According to sources within the club, the Glamour Boys have re-signed their former development player from the Citizens.

Comitis would neither deny or confirm that the Mpumalanga-born star was on his way to Naturena, but did confirm negotiations were currently taking place behind the scenes.

"I can't confirm that [laughs], we will have to be patient on that one," Comitis tells KickOff.

"At the moment we are still discussing. The chances of Mdantsane leaving depends on many things and at the moment we are not there yet.

"At the moment we have released the Cameroonian striker [Bertrand Mani]."

Comitis says preparations for next season have already started at his club.

"I'm happy with the way we have finished the season.

"I'm m not happy with the way we were out of contention the whole time. We were always out of the top eight.

"We made a bit of an attempt at the end which was good. Next season we looking to build on that.

"We started really bad this year and we never really got our rhythm going. But I'm not satisfied because we were knocked out in cups and in CAF.

"That's why I've kept the squad together, that's why we've kept players like Mayo.

"We have to build from where we left off, I think the last eight games we were the strongest team in the league."

City finished fourth on the table with 45 points in 30 matches.
