Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has broken his silence on the referee's decision to deny TS Galaxy what appeared to be a clear penalty.
In the 59th minute, the Mbombela club was awarded a penalty after top striker Samir Nurkovic was brought down by Spurs' Tshepo Gumede inside the box.
But two minutes later the referee Thabo Mkhaba revoked his decision after consulting with his two assistants Romario Phiri and Mervyn Van Wyk.
Luyanda Nondala served as fourth official.

The bottom-of-the-table Urban Warriors won the league match 2-0, moving a step closer to closing the gap between them and a play-off spot.
"I don't know what happened exactly, but I think there must have been a miscommunication between the match officials," Efstathiou tells KickOff.
"It looks like the linesman closer to the action must have originally said no penalty, but for some reason, the referee was told by the linesman from the other side that it was a penalty, which was not his call to make anyway.
"So I don't know what happened, I don't want to comment on if it was a penalty or no penalty, because I'm not the referee, but this season some decisions go your way and some don't go your way," the chairman added.

"But I'm happy that this decision went our way for a change because sometimes we've had some bad decisions. But I'm happy with the result, although I will only be very happy once we survive the relegation, we will just take one step at a time.
"Most of the players who played yesterday were already at the club, I think the coach is just managing the games differently maybe.
"He made a couple of changes in the positioning of the players on the field, so a lot of credit to the technical team of the club for experimenting and finding solutions with the players we had. We are still in the relegation, we are at the bottom of the league so, we will not pre-empt anything. We just want to keep the feet on the ground."
