In this edition of My Dream Team, renowned former Ajax Cape Town striker Carlo Scott names the 11 best players he featured alongside during his football career.
Scott was a lethal striker during his playing days, representing Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic while still holding the record for the most goals scored in a single season at Ajax Cape Town.
Formation
"4-4-2. It's a formation we utilised from my amateur days. And it suited my style of play."
Goalkeeper
"I played with so many good goalkeepers, but if I have to choose one, I will choose Moeneeb Josephs, because we also came up from the same amateur team as well."
Defenders
"At left-back, I will select Lovers Mohlala, over David Kannemeyer. At the time Lovers, he was going up and down that flank, a very strong player, who represented Bafana Bafana as well. He was also slightly a bit better on the ball.
"Right-back will be Craig Roslee. He was very professional, he captained Cape Town Spurs.
"Gary Goldstone will be one of my centre-backs. He was very strong, he read the game very well. A good distributor of the ball.
"I will partner him with the late Joas Magolego. I miss him. He welcomed me brilliantly at Sundowns. I enjoyed his play."
Midfield
"I will put Dillon Sheppard on the left. Had a lot of experience, he played overseas and had flair. He is one mlungu with lots of skill.
"Steven Pienaar. I can't leave him out.
"I will put Rober Feutmba next to him. He was a general, I think it is self-explanatory. He will allow Steven to get more time on the ball.
"On the right, it's Joel 'Fire' Masilela."
Strikers
"I'm going to put Simba Marumo. We achieved good things with him when I was at Sundowns. We took Sundowns to the Champions League final.
"Daniel 'Mambush' Mudau, he was quite a goal scorer. You couldn't take that away from him."
Substitutes
"Wayne Roberts will be the goalkeeper. Despite what happened in his career, he was always identified as a number one. When Alex Ferguson and his Manchester United came here, he asked about Wayne, he even knew his name. He and Emille Baron were the best Under-23 goalkeepers.
"The defender will be Matthew Booth. My midfielder is Charles Motlohi. He dictated the midfield.
"The additional striker will be Brandon Augustine."
Coach
"The late Ted Dumitru was my best coach in the time."
