Cape Town Spurs chairman Alexi Efstathiou has explained why they had no choice but to release their recent signing Surprise Ralani from his contract.
The 36-year-old Ralani barely spent two months at the club but is already on his way out.
Ralani's deal included one season plus a one-year option.

Spurs are still stuck at the basement of the DStv Premiership table and recently hired a new head coach in Ernst Middendorp who is struggling push the club into gear.
"Surprise Ralani, he wasn't released by the club, he is the one who asked to be released because of personal issues," Efstathiou told KickOff.
"His contract with us was until the end of the season plus an option. Performance-wise he was the same Ralani, I don't think there was performance issues.
"He didn't have a full pre-season, I think that doesn't help when you are at that age. But we didn't have any issues."

Asked if the club was disappointed by Ralani's decision of abandoning his contract, Efstathiou said there was very little they could do.
"It's not a matter of disappointments, it's a matter of issues, he's got personal issues to deal with."
