Coincidentally, Bartlett had previously served as an assistant to Middendorp at Kaizer Chiefs.
Currently rock-bottom of the DStv Premiership standings in 16th position, Spurs are grappling with the challenges of adapting to top-flight football.
Efstathiou is optimistic that Middendorp will bring about positive changes for the Urban Warriors.
"We opted for someone experienced in the league, dedicated, and committed to our long-term project," Efstathiou told KickOff.
"We took our time to ensure we found the right person.
"His short-term goal is to keep us in the PSL and collaborate with the new technical director. We want him to assist us in building a robust team for the future and strengthening our academy. This plan spans the short, medium, and long-term."
Efstathiou highlights Middendorp's past success in nurturing young talent, stating, "He introduced numerous youngsters to our football, though it went unnoticed."
Looking ahead, Spurs are set to face Royal AM at DHL Cape Town Stadium on November 25, 2023.
