Riveiro, who promoted Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota, is already impressed by the young star.
"An interesting prospect. He is a difficult player to find, there are not many left-footed centre-backs," Riveiro told journalists at the Carling Cup pre-match press conference on Thursday.
"He is a strong, competitive, good character. He is willing to learn, a coachable player so far.
"Like for everybody else on Saturday, this is an opportunity to confirm what I'm saying or to prove me wrong maybe, let's see.
"I don't really like to talk so much about individuals, as you know, but I'm doing an exception again.
"He will show the player that he is on Saturday, for sure," added the Spaniard.
