Confident Mammila 'not losing any sleep' ahead of daunting Mamelodi Sundowns clash

A confident Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila insists he is not losing any sleep ahead of a daunting clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Chippa face a trip to Loftus Versfeld Stadium for a DStv Premiership clash against the reigning champions on Tuesday.

Sundowns seem odds on favourites to defend their league title amid a remarkable nine-game winning run in all competitions with a most recent 2-0 win over Richards Bay on Friday.

Friday's win saw the Brazilians stretch their lead atop the standings to ten points ahead of SuperSport United.

"Sundowns are a simple team to play against," insisted Mammila.

"It's very simple, as even a MDC player could tell you how Sundowns play.

"They are a very easy team to play against, and plan against. But the only difference is they are mastering their system, that's the only difference.

"I hear people talking about Sundowns' quality, there is no such thing. "Half of those players from Sundowns were fighting relegation at the previous clubs where they come from.

"I can't mention names, but it's there.

"The player who was at Leopards was receiving red cards consistently, he went to Sundowns and is now a different player.

"It's because of the system that they are playing. I don't even need to do video sessions when facing Sundowns.

"All my players know how Sundowns play. "Let's be honest, go and check Sundowns when they lose the ball, there is no star player.

"All of them chase after the ball, and when they get the ball, all of them are opening up.

"Then go and check the 15 teams in the league, are they doing what Sundowns are doing?

"I am afraid the answer is no. You find the striker not even chasing, go and watch Sundowns, strikers mark from the top, that's the difference."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
