Mammila's Chippa to upset formidable Sundowns

Chippa United coach Morgan Mammila has spoken like a boxer and dished out threats ahead of their encounter against champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

This is the kind of talk that could influence punters to risk their bets on Chippa becoming the first team to hand Rulani Mokwena his first defeat since he took over as the sole head coach almost a year ago.

Mokwena is without defeat in the league since winning 5-0 against Maritzburg United in his first game on October 25 and has now overseen 23 league matches since then.

For Chippa, the game against the champions is the complete the last third that they have played against the Big Three in the opening four matches having already picked points against Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Saturday's game is at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium (20h00).

Typical of Mammila, he has spoken courageously ahead of the Sundowns test stating that his players can stand up to the champions 'pound for pound again' and will not park the bus after their gallant fight against Pirates in midweek.

"We know how they play and have already started planning for them," says Mammila.

The Brazilians travel to the coast have won three out of three while Chippa have drawn all three.

While Sundowns have already scored eight goals in three matches, Chippa only have one which came against Pirates courtesy of Goodman Mosele.

Even club boss Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi, has been in a confident mood about the start.

"There are good signs that this season is not going to be like last season," said Mpengesi.
