Mammila insists he has 'nothing to prove' as Chippa continue winning

Interim coach Morgan Mammila insists he has nothing to prove to any doubters as Chippa United continued their winning streak.

Chippa incredibly secured their fourth consecutive victory with a 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday.

Under Mammila, the Chilli Boys are the form team in the DStv Premiership by securing 12 points in their last four games to move up to sixth in the standings.

"Many people do not know my background in football, and I am not here to prove a point to anyone," Mammila said.

"I have won league titles from the Castle [SAB League] up until from NFD [Motsepe Foundation Championship] to PSL [DStv Premiership].

"I have even lifted the Telkom Cup in the PSL.

"What I have that most of the coaches don't have is that I have promoted teams.

"If you ask other coaches if they have ever promoted a team from the Castle to ABC Motsepe? The answer is no. Also have you ever promoted a team from the ABC Motsepe to NFD?

"The answer is no, but if you asked me, I would say yes, I am ticking all the boxes."

Chippa's incredible run of form betters even the two top teams in the standings in Tshwane rivals SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mammila's side will be aiming to continue their winning streak when they next face a trip to Cape Town City on 25 October.
