Swallows forced to pay, Chippa threatened with transfer ban in latest financial disputes

Swallows FC are reported to have finally settled their debt to former players Thabo Mosadi and Mphakamiseni Nene.

Safpu secretary Nhlanhla Shabalala claimed Swallows were reluctant to reimburse the duo following a financial dispute.

"Mosadi and Nene have won their cases, and have received their monies," Shabalala tells KickOff.

"There was a breach of employment contracts. The award we got was for them to get the remaining balance of their contracts.

"Mosadi had a year left on his contract, and Nene had about six months.

"However, with Nene, there were challenges because after we won the case, Swallows appealed and took the matter to SAFA.

"But, because Swallows failed to pay SAFA the money required, for the matter to be heard, the matter went back to the PSL.

"Then we have Chippa United and Sizwe Mdlinzo. There was a mutual termination between him and the club.

The player had a season left in his contract, there was a settlement agreement.

"Chippa only paid him once upon signature, and they did not pay him for the rest of the other months.

"So, we've won his case as well and we have also instructed the league to deduct the monies from the grant.

"But one good thing with the Mdlinzo case is that Chippa has been given a warning in terms of Rule 50 sub-section 4 of the NSL handbook.

"If they are found to be guilty of the same offence, they are going to get a transfer ban.

"Still at Chippa, there is Akhona Manqola, with him also, it's a settlement agreement. We've instructed the league to deduct money from the PSL grant.

"We have also won the case of Minenhle Dineka, Wandile Shicolo, and Sandile Tshawe against JDR. We've won their cases, and monies have been paid by the club. It defaulted on a settlement agreement.

"Still at JDR Sipho Zwane, Thomas Sambo, Nhlakanipho Vilakazi, these ones we have an award, but their monies have not been paid, we have requested the PSL to deduct the grant. It was also a breach of settlement.

"It's due to financial problems, as they said. That's why they have cited JDR.

"We've also won an award for Daylen Hawes from Platinum City Rovers, it's also a breach of settlement. We've requested the league to deduct the money from the grant.

"Our responsibility as Safpu is to cater for these players and make sure we defend their rights.

"We are happy with the gains that we have made since signing the CBA in terms of the composition of the NDRC because there is a bit of acceleration compared to previously."
