Baroka FC and Stellenbosch FC have joined Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this week the Soweto giants announced a donation of vitally important personal protective equipment to the National Health Laboratory Services to aid the government and health workers fight the outbreak in South Africa.

This has inspired other teams to get involved, with Baroka along with their main sponsor Global Oil SA donating food parcels to the underprivileged in the Molemole and Blouberg municipalities.

The move was made in association with the MEC for Social Development in Limpopo, Nkakareng Rakgoale.
"Our club sponsor, chairman, myself and four players were delivering 5 000 food parcels on Friday," Bakgaga head coach Dylan Kerr tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"It was an initiative by our sponsor Global and our chairman [Khurishi Mphahlele] to give back to the community.
"I felt it's important for our players to also show a commitment and support, and we also took Elvis Chipezeze, Goodman Mosele, Matome Kgoetyane and young MDC player Thuso Mogale.
Stellies have also been reaching out to their community in the Western Cape with food donations while the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) has been assisting medical workers.

"SAS and Stellenbosch FC are currently involved in a number of ways to assist vulnerable communities and individuals within the locality of Stellenbosch and its surrounding areas," says SAS and Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie.
"Our SAS Wellness Ambassadors are continuously liaising with parents and youth on not only the importance of lockdown but how they can assist these families during this trying time. These Ambassadors are also assisting at school feeding stations within the area.
"This week SFC staff members handed out food parcels to some families that are in desperate need of support, whilst our accommodation at SAS is currently provided to medical frontline workers who struggle to commute during lockdown.

"This pandemic is a collective challenge that requires collaborative efforts and a disciplined team approach to find solutions to our current circumstances.
"It is encouraging to see how the Government as well as so many corporates and individuals are working together to assist the most vulnerable. It is imperative that we all do our part and assist where we can, in any way possible."
Mark Mayambela and Ayanda Patosi have also been carrying out community work in the Khayelitsha township in Cape Town. They took time out on Friday to donate food parcels in collaboration with Qhayiya Care and Support House.
