Chippa United boss Siviwe Mpengesi has lived up to the spirit of giving during Christmas Day as he donated a house to a destitute family in the Eastern Cape.
The Maqolo family at KwaNomzamo location in Humansdorp lost their house in October last year after it was burnt down by a fire.
Mpengesi has since headed the call from the Eastern Cape Provincial Government's Destitute and Vulnerable Group Program, which focuses on helping build homes for destitute elderly and disabled people in the province.
The donation to the Maqolo family was handed over by MEC for Human Settlements Nonkqubela Pieters and the Chilli Boys boss on Wednesday.
"This is part of our initiative of giving back to local communities, and we have no doubt that the Maqolo family will enjoy their best Christmas this time around," said Mpengesi.
"We would also like to thank the MEC for the hard efforts to help uplift the community of the Eastern Cape."
