Daniel Mudau donates to Itsoseng Football Tournament to fight drug abuse in Tshwane

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Daniel Mudau has donated two soccer kits to Itsoseng Football Tournament as part of an initiative to help develop soccer at grassroots level.

Itsoseng Football Tournament is the brainchild of local community member Elijah Ncube, whose main objective is to address the issue of substance abuse that is currently wrecking the youth around Tshwane.

Ncube has already popped out R5 000 from his own pocket as prize money and is appealing to corporates around Tshwane to lend a hand in terms of contributions.

"I would like to thank Mambush [through his foundation] for coming on board and contributing towards this initiative, it will go a long way to inspire the youth to commit themselves to sport," Ncube tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We have a serious challenge of drug abuse, especially the deadly nyaope, in our communities. The main idea of this tournament is to address the issue of drugs and raise awareness about substance abuse," he explains.

"We also want use this tournament as talent identification because I believe that there is a lot of talent in our area that deserves exposure.

"At the moment we have put up R5 000 and trophies as part of the prizes. We also appeal to the business community around the area to come on board and help with donations towards this initiative."
