A large number of DStv Premiership stars including Itumeleng Khune and Mpho Makola among others are currently undertaking an educational programme which is aimed at helping them prepare for life after they retire. Here's a look!
The story
Many South African topflight footballers aged between 28 and 35 are currently enrolled for a course at the Gordon's Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria.
The group are studying the Player Transition Programme, which is organized by institution and Multichoice in order to help player acquire the "necessary knowledge and skills to transition into a role in sport" after they have hung up their boots.

All you need to know
According to organisers Multichoice, the six-month class began in January and it is set to run until June this year. The key modules of learning are business fundamentals, information technology, financial management and leadership.

Chairman of the PSL, Dr Irvin Khoza applauded the course for taking a step in addressing the common occurrence of footballers going broke in retirement.
"Today is proof that what happens when you engage on a matter of national importance with a renowned Model Corporate Citizen," the Orlando Pirates chairperson said at the launch of the programme.
"MultiChoice is today helping the PSL walk the talk. The launch of the Player Transition programme is a significant first step in addressing the plight of professional football players when they retire from their glorious playing days."
