Former Orlando Pirates star Brighton Mhlongo's eye tattoo

Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo has shown off his three newest tattoos and one of the latest designs includes a teary eye.

In the age of individuality and self-expression, tattoos are of extreme importance to some people who prefer to wear their artistic expression rather than speak it. Sometimes the reason does not even carry any meaning but it looks attractive and that can be a reason to get a tattoo!

The new ink shows the number 29 that he sometimes wore in his career but also links to a bible verse Jeremiah 29:11 which says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Another tattoo shows an eye, which could have something to do with the injury he got in the 2020/21 season that put his career on hold.

It was reported that he partially lost his eyesight due to an accident in training at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila – now known as Marumo Gallants.

There's a text under the eye that reads, "The eye is the jewel of the body, I live by faith and walk and see through the grace of God".

A last new tattoo is a man standing by what can be only assumed as the gates of heaven.  There's a big eagle in the clouds and his caption hints that it may have something to do with someone who passed away.

The caption for that picture mentions a date of birth and death including a statement, "May ur dreams and legacy continue to be fulfilled through ur family, may ur soul continue resting in eternal peace big man...."

Your thoughts, please?

What do you think of the tattoo?
