Orlando Pirates star Fortune Makaringe recently took time from his hectic schedule to make a grand gesture to inspire a young group of footballers.
What happened?
Pirates along with a few other teams are part of the biggest teams in Africa and with that prestigious title, it means that the players are often idolized by not just young South Africans but children from across the continent.
This comes with the burden of being a role model and one star who understands this is the Buccaneers midfielder who recently took time from his busy schedule to inspire the youth and kick around with them for a bit.

Words of wisdom
In a recent post on Instagram, Makaringe explained why he chose to play with the boys.
"Never mind the shibobos and everything that happened real quick. Sometimes all they ever seek is just 5 seconds of sharing whatever moment with their Kasi heroes." "Life-changing moments that impact one's perspective positively, moments I wasn't paying much attention to until I gave myself time to play namajita. This was one of the most powerful Priceless Experiences I have felt in a long time, I felt like that kid again."

The beautiful part about Makaringe's post is that he admits that the interaction had just as much of an impact on him as it had on the children. The memories were flooding back to the days when he was one of those children who had a small dream of becoming a star.
A truly beautiful moment from a top-class gent, hopefully this will inspire other SA footballers to do the same.
