Ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Jabulani Mendu has donated food parcels to the needy families of KwaZenzele in Benoni.
Through his organisation, Jabulani Mendu Foundation, current footballers and former pros are doing their part to help where they can during these difficult times of the coronavirus.

"It happened on Monday in East Rand and the areas that were covered were KwaZenzele in Benoni and Vosloorus," the foundation's director Zanele Molefe tells to snl24.com/kickoff.
"So we engaged the football players and legends to work together during this time of coronavirus and help those who don't have food so that they can also have something to eat.

"So yes, they helped, they were paying either R200 or R100 or whatever one could afford. Our friends as well, also they were contributing.
"The food parcels had anything you can think of – rice, samp, mielie meal, mabele meal for soft porridge, tin stuffs, meat, cooking oil, soup, tea and sugar. Thirty people benefited so far, because it's an ongoing thing so we are planning to buy every week.
"When we distribute we don't stand in the streets, we go to your house and we don't take pictures because we don't see a need to expose a person. So we don't take pictures with the beneficiaries.

"We only take pictures of what we've bought so that the people who support us can see that this thing is going on. But to expose people, no, that we don't allow."
