Former Ubuntu goalkeeper Kyle Davids has tragically passed away at the age of 25 after losing a battle with cancer.
Davids, who was on the books of Cape Town-based outfit Glendene United and represented one of the most talented players to emerge from the gang-ridden area of Parkwood.
The 25-year-old epitomised the dream for kids in the area to overcome the incredible obstacles to pursue a professional career in football and was highly-rated as a technically gifted sweeper-keeper.
This website understands that Davids was diagnosed with stage four abdominal cancer earlier this year after being checked out after severe pain.
And it's now been confirmed that the former Milano shot-stopper has passed on, much to the sadness of the local football fraternity as tributes continue to pour in to celebrate his life.
snl24.com/kickoff would like to express the condolences to the Davids family and his friends through this tragic time.
