Former Cape Town City stars Mark Mayambela and Ayanda Patosi took time out on Friday to donate food parcels to the underprivileged in Khayelitsha.
Patosi is currently at home in Cape Town after football activities were suspended in Iran, where he is now playing for Foolad Khuzestan, while Mayambela is a free agent after parting ways with the Citizens at the beginning of the year.

Mihlali Mayambela, who plies his trade in Israel, joined forces with the soccer stars to lend a hand to Qhayiya Care and Support House and nine other families who lost their houses in a fire in an informal settlement.

"We visited Iqhayiya, which houses people with disabilities here in Cape Town and also nine families whose houses were destroyed by fire and are currently housed by the municipality in a local hall," Mayambela tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"We are also trying to get other stakeholders and are speaking to corporates to try to contribute to this initiative.

"There are a lot of challenges that these people are facing and we intend to continue doing this every week. The challenges didn't start now with the coronavirus but we want to continue doing it beyond.
"We also used this opportunity to encourage people to continue washing their hands and adhering to all the government restrictions to help try curb the spread of the coronavirus."
