Following Percy Tau's move from Brighton Hove Albion to Al Ahly, Mzansi quickly unfollowed the Premier League side leaving them with a massive downgrade in their socials.
What Happened?
The South African forward was unveiled for the Egyptian giants on Friday following a difficult spell at Graham Potter's side. After being recalled in January 2021, the Lion of Judah was expected to join an elite list of Mzansi footballers who dazzled in the English league but was only able to make six appearances for the Seagulls.
When Tau joined Brighton, they experienced a massive increase in their social media followers and interactions with fans religiously waiting for their weekly starting line-ups to see if the 27-year-old would feature in the matchday squad.

The fury continues
Due to the attacker's lack of game-time, South Africans were consistently replying in anger to East Sussex side's team sheets but when his exit was announced on their Twitter page, the Mzansi community made their feelings known about his treatment at the club.
The decrease in followers?
At one point in 2021, the EPL club had a number of followers in the region of 446k-448k. The club's followers now stand at 431k. This shows a decline by more than 15 thousand Twitter followers.
The departure of the popular forward will definitely be felt by the side's social media and marketing department.
