Inspiring the next generation

Miss Mamelodi Sundowns Gauteng Tebogo Mphahlele appeared to organise an event for the people from her community. The occasion was called 67 minutes with my football role model in celebration of Mandela day.

This meant that all the footballers and head coaches answered questions that the crowd of young people had for them and shared some of the challenges they had in their football journey while revealing the best way to overcome them.

This was a really refreshing gesture as footballers rarely go out of their way to give back to the community.

There were also lots of eats for the children including McDonald's meals which topped off a really inspiring day for anyone in the crowd who aspires to be a footballer.

Modiba and Rama even ended up joining the youngsters when they were showing off their dance moves.

Tebogo Mphahlele, the organiser of the event elaborated on why she chose to hold the event.

"My aim was to bring young footballers from my township Daveyton into one room with their football role models.

"In the 67 minutes, mentorship sessions took place and inspiring talks from their role models took place."
