Callies official Doctor Maphalle said it was part of the team's social responsibility to uplift the community, especially in Tshwane where the youth are facing many social challenges in life.
"The issue of substance abuse and gender-based violence is a concern of everybody and we are happy as a club to be part of this initiative to help address the issues affecting our community, especially in Tshwane," Maphalle tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"We hope this soccer kit will go a long way to motivate these kids to play football and keep them away from the street."
TUT and Banyana Banyana midfielder Pride Nthite also handed soccer balls from Boots of Africa to the school.
"I did my secondary school here at Hans Kekana and I am excited to come and give back to the school that played a big part in both my academic and soccer career," Nthite adds.
"I want to encourage learners that anything is possible in life as long as you work hard. I want to see more Pride Nthites coming here studying at TUT and playing for Banyana Banyana."
SANCA Hammanskraal and Sazo Discussions also joined the event to raise awareness about substance abuse and address issues of mental illness, therapy and counseling to the learners at the school.
