South African wonderkid Riley Swarts bag his first trophy with Genk

13-year-old South African wunderkind Riley Swarts is continuing to impress overseas as he has now just won his first junior trophies with new club KRC Genk from Belgium.

Swarts won the Ramada Cup this week, which is a junior tournament for Dutch and Belgian clubs including Genk, AZ Alkmaar, Sparta Rotterdam, AFC Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven, RSC Anderlecht, FC Volendam, and RKSV Pancratius.

He also scored in one of the matches with a phenomenal strike from close range after making a fantastic run on the outside before his teammate picked him out with a well-time aerial ball.

The youngster looks set to set the world alight with his impressive skills and flair and will be looking to emulate the success of former Genk Academy star Kevin De Bruyne, who is now arguably the best creative midfielder in the world.

The late Anele Ngcongca made 174 appearances for the Belgian side, while several notable stars have developed through the Genk Academy system, including former and current Premier League stars such Leicester City's Dennis Praet, Crystal Palace's Christian Benteke, Brighton Hove Albion's Leandro Trossard, as well as Real Madrid goalkeeper and former Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois.

We also hope that the youngster will one day represent Bafana Bafana as he is from the Netherlands but with South African lineage. Depending on how long he remains in Belgium, the talented prospect could even be eligible to represent Belgium if he stays long enough to acquire citizenship in the country.

Your thoughts, please?

Do you see Riley Swarts representing Bafana Bafana once he becomes a senior professional?
