Thulasizwe Mbuyane donates shoes to less privileged in Welkom

Mbuyane last year announced his retirement from football, after a fruitful career at Pirates where he won the infamous double treble.

'Juju' also played for Mpumalanga Black Aces and Royal Eagles in the National First Division before hanged up his soccer boots exactly a year ago.

Mbuyane says, besides football, it has always been his passion to give back to less fortunate communities.

"I am very glad today through my company ‘Juju Mbuyane Investment’ as well as Peniel Community Church,” says the 32-yar-old.

“We are here to donate school 100 pairs of school shoes and 80 pairs of sneakers to the kids.

“We all come from different backgrounds, and some kids cannot afford some of the basic things in life, so I am happy to see the kids smiling.

"This is not first time donated something to community. It has always been my passion to make a contribution to the community, and make a difference in the society."

Despite having retired from football in order to concentrate on his business, Mbuyane reveals that he still follows the beautiful game and promises to get behind his former team in the CAF Confederation Cup final on Saturday.

"I still follow football. I still have a soft spot for Garankuwa United and Free State Stars, but my heart is always with Orlando Pirates because that's where I had a glowing career.

“I will be there [at Orlando Stadium] on Saturday, to support them when play the CAF final,” he concludes.
